Michael Barath

Resident Character Dancer

Resident character dancer Michael Barath has danced many roles in his life, from the more winsome of two Ugly Stepsisters in Cinderella, to the tortured Renfield in Dracula … the Ballet. Coming from a strong acting background, Michael has studied with such fanciful directors as James Viront and Mishka Molnar. He has performed at The Player’s Guild in Little Footsteps and The Boys Next Door, and with the Contract Players in Frankie and Johnnie in the Clair de Lune with the talented and beautiful Jodi Wilson. He has been Grandfather and Drosselmeyer in Canton Ballet’s productions of The Nutcracker and Peter and the Wolf since 1991. If he were 18 again, Mr. Barath would go to Veterinary College so he could provide free health care to his three dogs. As it is, he’s looking forward to a midlife crisis, so he can buy a bright yellow Miata.
