Supporting The Canton Ballet

Ticket revenues and other earned income provide only about 65% of the funds necessary to bring Canton Ballet’s high quality of dance performances and extensive education and outreach programs to the community. It requires an average investment of $15,000 to bring a live ballet performance to the stage. Costs may be as simple as purchasing dry ice or “snow juice” or as complex as making a new tutu for the Sugar Plum Fairy. Your support of Canton Ballet assures that we can continue to provide our audiences with outstanding entertainment.

As a non-profit organization, The School of Canton Ballet strives to make outstanding ballet instruction available to all students who desire to study classical ballet. Each year we provide $10,000 in financial assistance to students who would not otherwise have the opportunity to participate in a dance program. Your support of Canton Ballet helps us to maintain our high quality of instruction at affordable tuition rates and assures that our financial assistance programs will continue.

There are several ways individuals and corporations can provide financial support to Canton Ballet. As a Member you have a voice in electing the Trustees who will guide the organization each year. Your membership dollars provide operating income for the both the School of Canton Ballet and the Canton Ballet Company. Performance Patrons provide the Ballet with underwriting funds to help offset the costs of each of our productions. Corporate Sponsors provide significant funds for special projects such as creating a new ballet, sponsoring a dance residency, underwriting special guest artists or replacing sets, costumes and scenery for classics like Wizard of Oz or The Nutcracker. Endowment Contributions help to assure the continuation of Canton Ballet’s training and programming for many years.

The Nutcracker Ball is hosted by the Canton Ballet Board of Trustees the first weekend in December each year, and is the Ballet’s biggest fundraising event. Patrons provide support through donations of cash or auction items and attendance at the event.
