Cassandra Crowley

As Canton Ballet Artistic Director since 1980 and now Executive Director as well, Cassandra Crowley has led the organization to ever increasing levels of excellence. Dancers trained by Ms. Crowley have competed in the Paris International Ballet Competition, winning in numerous Youth America Grand Prix. Others have danced professionally with such companies as New York City Ballet, Royal Winnipeg Ballet, BalletMet, Pennsylvania Ballet, Cincinnati Ballet, Colorado Ballet, many Broadway shows, Broadway and international touring companies and London West End stage productions. Canton Ballet has been an honor company in Regional Dance America/Northeast since 1984 and has frequently taken part in Young!Tanzsommer’s European performance tours to Austria. Active in dance organizations throughout the country, Ms. Crowley is a founder of Regional Dance America, on the board of directors of YoungTanzsommer!, vice-president of RDA/NE, former vice-president of OhioDance and a two time member of the Ohio Arts Council Dance Panel. Ms. Crowley began her dance career with Jan Collum and BalletTacoma in Washington State. She performed professionally in England, France and Slovenia as well as in the United States and received a Master's Degree in Dance from Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana.
